Ultrasonic energy heats the bath. On long runs a standard sonicator can rise well above room temperature, which can degrade samples, evaporate solvents and change results. A sonicator with an inbuilt chiller removes that heat and keeps the bath at a set temperature for the whole run.

Long sonication runs heat a normal bath. That can degrade heat-sensitive samples and evaporate solvent, which changes concentrations. The inbuilt chiller holds the bath at a set temperature, so the results stay consistent.
The table-top SM-200 US/CH holds 3–35 °C. The floor-mounted SM-250 US/CH goes from 2 °C to ambient.
