A hot air oven heats samples and equipment with circulating hot air in an insulated chamber. It is the most versatile heating instrument in labs and plants. Typical uses are drying glassware, dry-heat sterilisation at 160 °C, moisture determination, pharmaceutical stability studies, and curing coatings and adhesives.

Fan-assisted forced-air convection gives ±2 °C uniformity across all shelves for stability testing and component curing. Yes. Dry heat at 160 °C for 2 hours sterilises clean metal instruments and glassware that cannot be autoclaved. The oven should be validated for temperature uniformity.
