Every solder-paste stencil has to be cleaned before storage or reuse. Blocked apertures cause insufficient paste deposits, which lead to opens, tombstoning and BGA voids. Manual wiping with IPA takes 15–30 minutes per stencil and still leaves paste in apertures below 0.4 mm pitch.
